California Labor Law Restaurants –
We see it every day and in every industry. Business under constant attack and scrambling to defend themselves against California’s unfair and one-sided labor laws.
But because of the nature of some business and the way the laws are written, certain industries are even more vulnerable to employee problems than others.
We have helped hundreds of employers and worked in dozens of industries but there is none that we have seen with more risk in the current labor law climate than the food service industry.
Restaurants are especially hard hit and exposed to employee problems.
For example Chipotle took a big hit when nearly 10,000 employees sued it for wage claims and another suit against them for overtime pay violations.
Its not just large chains like Chipotle that are having issues however. Southern California very own small chain ‘Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles’ was hit with over $3 million in damages related to employee discrimination claims last year.
And there are countless small, one store, mom and pop shops that are hit with labor lawsuits every day that we never hear about.
So we decided we want to help restaurant owners. We know that it is already difficult enough just trying to run your place and make a healthy profit. Having to keep up with all of the oppressive labor laws and dealing with difficult employees is a distraction you don’t need.
